This work one of my artworks from my IB art thinggy.
The theme is (duhhh) child prostitution in philippines. Its about how some poor children are convinced by media, people around them and most of the time their own parents that if they sell themselves to foreigners or pedo's that their lives will be less financially difficult. I was inspired by this artwork from an article i read. i forgot the name of the guy but it was about a homeless 7 year old girl named Grace who lived in a cemetery. She begged for money and if offered would sell herself for money. she was also constantly raped by a teenage boy in the cemetery. The guy that saw her promised to come back for her and came back a year later only to find out that she had died from an STD.

There is a place in Philippines called Angeles City where child prostitution is dominant and because of this the city has gained the name of 'City of Broken Angels'. soooo I wanted to show the child being broken. yay.

No rocket science here people. just simple angel being broken. and oh yeah, the skin of the man on the right is blue to show that he is a foreigner, 'different colored' as they say.

yeah :p its pretty sad especially in philippines cause there are lots of street children/beggars that just loiter around.

i tried to go for a dazed kind of confused expression =D to show how the child is caught in confusion of being brought up and told doing this is right but it feels wrong
